The Challenge
The existing email template lacked a defined content hierarchy and every email followed the same rigid flow with no flexibility for the content's actual needs. The result was a library of repetitive, visually flat emails with no clear primary message and declining engagement to match.
The Approach
The redesign wasn't just a visual refresh to align with the updated brand. The deeper goal was to establish a typographic and CTA hierarchy that gave each email a clear focal point. To make that flexibility sustainable, I built the template around HubSpot's drag-and-drop components, so the layout could adapt to the content rather than the other way around.
The Built & Impact
One core template with a modular component system gave the team the building blocks to customize structure, emphasis, and flow without starting from scratch each time. The system was intentionally self-serving: by removing the need for recurring design reviews on every send, it streamlined the workflow and gave the team real autonomy. With a clear hierarchy in place and a template that has the flexibility to fit the messaging, which improved the open and click-through rates across all emails.
